Updated: Feb 28, 2023

Digilogue’s first exhibition in 2018 is the installation “Narrow” by Nonotak, a collective of visual and performance projects.

Exhibited as a part of Sonar Istanbul, the exhibition will be opened with a live performance by the founders of the collective –visual artist Noemi Schipfer and musician and architect Takami Nakamoto – at PSM LED Screen on May 29.

Introducing multiple hi-power pixel addressable LEDs in diamond configurations, the total piece spans tens of meters filling a room. With the large number of diamonds perfectly aligned over the long distance, the viewers will witness a study of space over vast dimensions with detailed light and sound programming by Nonotak.

Receiving great praise with their performance “Shiro” at Sonar Istanbul last year. Nonotak prepares to meet their followers in Istanbul once again with Narrow.

Also known as Nonotak Studio, Nonotak is a visual and performance projects collective. Led by visual artist Noemi Schipfer and musician, architect Takami Nakamoto, Nonotak was founded when architect Bigoni-Mortemard requested them to cover the lobby of a public building in Paris with a large-scale wall painting. Today, Nonotak works on audiovisual installations and stage performances.

By creating dreamlike spaces with installations, Nonotak is a blend of Nakamoto’s meticulousness with the use of time and place, and Schipfer’s kinetic and geometric illustrations.

Another field of interest for Nonotak is to equip technologies structured based on space and performance in their installations, offering daily technologies to the audience in unexpected ways. Nonotak’s highly acclaimed installation “Daydream V2” was nominated for the Prix Cube award in 2013 and received the ADC Young Guns award in 2016. . Nonotak was featured on Forbes magazine’s “30 Under 30 European Artists” in 2016. In 2013, Nakamoto and Schipfer collaborated with the famous French fashion house Hermés for the windowcase installation “Light Excursions” displayed at Hermés Istanbul shop and the brand headquarters at Galeries Lafayette Paris. In June 2016, Nonotak rolled up their sleeves for their biggest project “Hoshi.” Presented by Vice Media “The Creators Project” and Toyota, the work was displayed in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. A variation of this work, “Highline” was on display at Houston Day For Night along with the performance “Shiro” throughout 2016. Hoshi was also featured in the music video for “The Half” by DJ Snake. Directed by Director X and starring Young Thug, Swizz Band and Jeremih, the video was highly acclaimed. In 2017, Nonotak got together with British director Sean Ellis and famous designer Stella McCartney for a short film project. Starring actor Cillian Murphy, the film’s score was composed by Paul McCartney.
