Anthony Rowe: How to Create Digital and Interactive Media Experiences?

Anthony Rowe is an artist, designer, lecturer and researcher with nearly 15 years of experience in the field of digital media and interaction design.

Speaker, artist, designer and researcher Anthony Rowe came to Istanbul to share his 15 years of experience in digital media and interaction design with AltCity participants. On Wednesday, November 1, in his public speech titled, “How to Create Digital and Interactive Media Experiences?”, he examines the coexistence of art and technology today.

Anthony founded Squidsoup in 1997. The group’s works are closely related to Anthony’s research. He is also one of the founders of Lux, an international series of seminars and exhibitions examining the creative and rich intersection of light, space and interaction.

He is currently a research assistant at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) and a visiting lecturer at the DCRC (the University of the West of England’s Digital Cultures Research Centre). His application-oriented research consists of experiments in the field of installation, visualizing and interacting with expansive and mixed reality environments that physically occupy space in three-dimensional space. Prior to this research, he was an associate doctor in Interaction Design at AHO from 2009-2012.

In the early years of his life he crossed the Atlantic alone with his sailing boat (1988). He completed a master’s degree in Interactive Media Design at Middlesex University in 1997.
